Drinking & Driving offences for Northwestern Ontario: 67.0/10,000
- The 1996 Ontario Health Survey reports that 5.1% of Ontario residents who have been a passenger with someone who had too much to drink (riding) while 4.5% had driven after drinking too much (drinking and driving)
- The Northwestern Ontario figures are higher at 7.1% and 7.4% respectively
- 15% of Ontario boat users have operated a watercraft after having 2 or more drinks (drinking and boating).
- In the Kenora/Rainy River Districts, 47% have had more than 2 drinks and operated a boat.
- 4.5% of Ontario residents reported drinking and driving too much compared to 7.4% for Northwestern Ontario.
